Kingston Health Sciences Centre is looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Unit Clerk to join our Surgery Clinics team. In this important role, you will be the central point of communication for patients, visitors, physicians, and the multidisciplinary health care team.

As a Unit Clerk, your work directly supports high-quality patient care by helping coordinate clinic activities, managing vital patient information, and ensuring efficient communication across the care team.

What You'll Do

As a valued member of the Surgery Clinics team, you will:

- Welcome and assist patients, families, visitors, and members of the health care team.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, discharges, consultations, and diagnostic appointments.
- Transcribe physician orders and implement requests for laboratory, diagnostic, and consultation services.
- Facilitate the transportation of patients, specimens, and materials required for patient care.
- Prepare and maintain patient documentation, charts, and clinic records.
- Order supplies, prepare reports and requisitions, and follow up on outstanding requests.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold skilled and ethical standards in all interactions.

What You Bring

We're looking for candidates who have:





- A 2-year Office Administration - Medical Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- A commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
- Proven ability to attend work regularly.

Employment Requirement:

A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Search will be required.
