About Us The Hummingbird is a growing, family-owned wedding and event venue located in Erin, Ontario. We host approximately 25 weddings and events each season.
As a small business, every member of our team plays an important role. We work together, step in wherever needed, and take pride in delivering exceptional experiences.
Position Overview The Venue Manager is a key leadership role and trusted right-hand person to the owners of The Hummingbird.
This person takes ownership of events—leading the venue team, coordinating couples and vendors, managing timelines, solving problems, and ensuring the venue operates to a high standard with a team of 4.
We're looking for someone who has experience with creating and managing wedding timelines. can confidently take charge while making couples and guests feel genuinely cared for. They understand how to provide exceptional customer service while also communicating expectations and holding boundaries when needed.
This is also a hands-on role. The Venue Manager leads by example and is willing to jump in wherever needed—from setup and moving décor to tidying spaces and final cleanup.
Schedule
- Seasonal position (June–October)
- Primarily Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
- 12–13 hour event-day shifts
- Rehearsals, venue tours and event preparation as required
- Schedule varies based on bookings
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the successful execution of the wedding and event agenda.
- Lead event setup, timelines, transitions and closing procedures.
- Coordinate couples, wedding planners and vendors.
- Lead rehearsals and assist with venue tours.
- Anticipate issues and confidently solve problems as they arise.
- Lead and delegate to Venue Assistants and Venue Associates.
- Ensure venue policies and expectations are followed.
- Maintain high standards for venue presentation, cleanliness and guest experience.
- Jump in wherever needed to ensure a successful event and clean,
well-presented venue.
What We're Looking For
- Experience executing wedding and event timelines and keeping the day running smoothly.
- Extremely organized, proactive and detail-oriented.
- Confident and comfortable taking charge of a room when needed.
- Warm, personable and exceptional with couples, guests and vendors.
- Able to confidently uphold venue policies and say no when necessary, while maintaining a positive and supportive customer experience.
- Calm under pressure and a strong, solutions-focused problem solver.
- Comfortable making decisions independently and taking ownership of situations as they arise.
- Hands-on, hardworking and willing to lead by example.
- Experience in weddings, events, hospitality or a similar customer-facing leadership role.
- Reliable transportation to and from the venue.

Work Location: In person
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
