About the Role
BOOM Imaging is looking for a detail-oriented, technically strong Print Production & Design Specialist to join our growing team.
We are open to candidates at different stages of their careers — from talented recent graduates with backgrounds in Industrial Design, Packaging Design or Graphic Design, to experienced print-production professionals ready to take on greater responsibility.
This is a hands-on role that combines production, technology, problem-solving and creative design. You will work with advanced wide-format printing, CNC cutting and finishing equipment while helping produce custom signage, displays, packaging, retail graphics and other unique projects.
For experienced candidates, the role offers the opportunity to take on senior production responsibilities, including acting as a backup to our Production Manager, helping coordinate workflow, troubleshooting production challenges and ensuring jobs move efficiently through the plant.

What You'll DoPrint & Production
- Operate wide-format printers, CNC cutting equipment and laminators.
- Review work orders, proofs and production requirements before jobs begin.
- Set up and run production equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor print quality and perform quality-control checks throughout production.
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and keep production areas clean and organized.
- Help ensure materials and inventory are available to meet production schedules.
- Assist with finishing, assembly and other production requirements as needed.
Design & File Preparation Depending on your experience, you may also:
- Prepare and adjust graphic files for production.
- Create shop drawings and production layouts.
- Assist with the design of custom displays, signage and packaging.
- Prepare print and cutting files using RIP software.
- Develop structural concepts, prototypes and production solutions.
- Recommend materials and production methods based on appearance, durability, cost and manufacturability.
- Work with the production team to turn creative concepts into finished products.
Senior Production & Leadership Opportunities Candidates with stronger production experience may take on additional responsibilities such as:
- Acting as a backup to the Production Manager when required.
- Helping coordinate daily production priorities and workflow.
- Reviewing upcoming jobs for materials, staffing and production requirements.
- Identifying potential production bottlenecks before they affect deadlines.
- Supporting and mentoring junior production staff.
- Troubleshooting complex production, print, finishing and fabrication issues.
- Helping ensure jobs move effectively between prepress, printing, finishing, installation and shipping.
- Supporting quality control and production standards.
- Assisting with production planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For We are open to a range of experience levels.
Junior / Developing Candidates
You may have
- A diploma or degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Graphic Design or a related field.
- Strong technical and computer skills.
- An interest in fabrication, printing and manufacturing.
- A desire to learn how designs are actually produced.
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experienced Candidates
You may have
- Several years of experience in wide-format printing, signage, displays, graphics, fabrication or a related production environment.
- Experience operating or overseeing wide-format printers,
CNC cutting equipment, laminators or finishing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and production-planning skills.
- Experience coordinating jobs and priorities in a busy production environment.
- Experience supervising, training or leading other production staff.
- The ability to step into a leadership role when required.
Technical Skills Experience with any of the following is an asset:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- SketchUp
- SolidWorks
- ArtiosCAD
- RIP software
- CNC cutting equipment
- Wide-format printers
- Laminators and finishing equipment
- Print production workflow software

Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on production environment.
Candidates must be comfortable
- Standing for extended periods.
- Working around production machinery.
- Handling sheets, rolls and finished products.
- Lifting materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
