Lead snow and ice control efforts as a Winter Supervisor with the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works. Ensure safety across multiple locations during winter conditions. This term position involves supervising snow and ice management activities within the Highway Operations Division.
As Winter
Supervisor, you will plan routes, oversee job sites, manage equipment assignments, and ensure supplies of road salt and sand are replenished. Your technical expertise will ensure service levels are consistently maintained, while your organizational skills help coordinate staffing and resources effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise snow and ice control activities in assigned areas
- Plan and coordinate maintenance routes and staffing
- Monitor site operations to uphold service standards
- Ensure replenishment of road salt and traction sand
- Conduct preliminary site investigations and prepare cost estimates Requirements:
- High School with 4 years of experience
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with 2 years in related field
- Proven supervisory experience in a team environment
- Solid communication skills, both oral and written
- Valid driver’s license required Utilize your supervisory skills and expertise in snow logistics to maintain safe winter road conditions across Nova Scotia.
