Kids Great Minds (KGM) is dedicated to inspiring and preparing the next generation of leaders, creators, and innovators. We provide engaging, educational, and hands-on Technology/STEM programs for children and teens, focusing on many of today’s most in-demand skills, including coding, game design, computer animation, virtual reality, robotics, and more.

Our programs feature a wide range of courses and themes that are regularly updated to reflect current technologies and trends, helping ensure there is something to capture the interest of every learner.

Job Summary

Kids Great Minds offers interactive computer and technology courses specifically designed around the learning needs and styles of children and teens. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Instructors to join our team for upcoming recreation programs for children and youth at various locations throughout South and West Mississauga.

KGM Instructors deliver our in-house developed Technology/STEM curriculum, helping students develop skills in areas such as math, science, engineering, coding, and art. Our instructors combine professionalism and Technology/STEM teaching experience with a genuine interest in working with children and teens.

Successful instructors are patient, flexible, energetic, supportive, and ready to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment. Instructors also work closely with the Program Supervisor regarding program logistics, support, and professional development.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities in a busy environment.

A valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required, as instructors must be able to transport course equipment.

Work Schedule

Kids Great Minds is looking for candidates with flexible availability during the following times:

- Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Weekends: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Shifts will be scheduled based on your availability and program needs.



Candidates will not necessarily be scheduled every day. Expected Hours: 20–30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver the curriculum and use the teaching resources provided by Kids Great Minds to create a fun, organized, and rewarding experience for students.
- Teach key concepts through a variety of instructional approaches, including hands-on learning and group activities.
- Deliver lessons with enthusiasm, structure, and subject knowledge while guiding students through the completion of individual projects.
- Maintain an engaging and enjoyable classroom environment.
- Collaborate with, guide, and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors and/or Volunteers who support program delivery.
- Participate in staff meetings as required.
- Engage with students and help ensure they remain safe, involved, and having fun throughout the program.
- Manage classroom setup and turnover, student sign-in, safe departure procedures, and completion of all required forms and documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching Technology/STEM programs, preferably in a classroom or instructional environment.
- Previous experience teaching coding is required.
- Experience working with children or youth, including children or youth with special needs.
- Confident, outgoing, and comfortable teaching and communicating with larger groups.
- Energetic, patient, adaptable, and genuinely interested in working with children.
- Able to learn new software and technologies quickly and willing to participate in training.
- Proficient with Google Workspace.
- Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
- Game Design & Development
- Programming, including Scratch, Python, or similar languages/platforms
- 3D Modeling & Design
- Computer Animation
- Robotics
- Virtual Reality
- App Development

Kids Outstanding Minds provides full training and detailed lesson plans.

Requirements

- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Candidates must be able to transport course equipment.
- Current CPR-C / First Aid certification and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification, to be completed at least 14 days before the program start date.
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) at least 14 days before the program start date.
- Completion of all required online and in-person training and onboarding documentation before programs begin.

Job Locations Kids Great Minds partners with municipalities throughout the GTA to deliver computer and technology programs at local community centres, libraries, and schools.

We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work at various locations throughout South and West Mississauga.

Compensation

Hourly Wage: From $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
