Position OverviewAs a Powertrain Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly of large Caterpillar powertrain components. You will leverage your mechanical experience in combination with your safety focus to produce quality products in a timely manner.CompanyOEM Remanufacturing Company Inc.Job DescriptionResponsible for assembling components in the powertrain category in accordance with OEM specifications, standard hours and quality metricsMust be capable of assembling powertrain components with minimal supervisionQualificationsHET Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is requiredPreference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule CMultiple years’ experience working on heavy equipment powertrain componentsUnderstanding of powertrain components and how they functionUnderstanding of proper torquing proceduresCapable of operating basic service tools as well as all critical analog measuring devices including dial bore gauges and micrometersStrong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructionsMust be able to communicate written and spoken English effectivelyAbility to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 poundsA condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respiratorCandidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organization's policies and proceduresNoteThis posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday - Thursday; 10 hours per dayAny future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective AgreementApplicants must apply with either an updated Professional Profile on Workday or attached resume to be consideredWill require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessmentHourly Rate: $53.05 / HourUnion MembershipThis is a unionized position.
