The Mandate

Our client, a recognized company in the mining sector, is looking for a Project Director to lead the planning, execution and delivery of large-scale mining projects, from the design phase to commissioning. You will act as a central point of contact between engineering and construction teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and the highest quality and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of a mining project (design, procurement, construction, commissioning)
Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed specifications
Liaise with civil and mining engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards




Produce explicit progress reports for management and stakeholders stakeholders
Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

Desired Profile
Degree in civil or mining engineering
Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, ideally in the mining sector
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects (budget, schedule, multidisciplinary teams)
Valuable knowledge of applicable mining sector standards (Directive 19, etc.)
Solid leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills
Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) — an asset
Bilingualism (French/English) — an asset, depending on project needs
