McCormack Optometric Centre is a well established privately owned practice with three Optometrists in Edmonton's west end. We are looking for a full or part time licensed Optician to join our team. Duties
Greet customers warmly and assess their optical needs through active listening and skilled consultation
Measure and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical devices accurately using specialized equipment
Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care to ensure satisfaction and optimal vision correction
Process prescriptions efficiently within the Epic electronic health record system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Manage laboratory tasks such as lens ordering, adjustments, and repairs to deliver high-quality eyewear products
Assist in retail sales by promoting eyewear collections, accessories, and lens upgrades to meet sales goals
Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, prescriptions, and inventory to support clinic operations
Requirements
Valid Licensed Optician certification
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Outgoing personality, professionalism and active listener
Organized and attention to detail
Effective time management skills
Able to assess and trouble shoot independently
Familiarity with Visual Eyes or similar computer systems are an asset
Please note candidates will be required to work evenings and Saturdays. Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
