We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant/Optical Sales member to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, while also enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date.
Assist the optometrist during examinations by preparing patients, conducting preliminary tests, and documenting results.
Educate patients on proper contact lens care, eyewear options, and optical products.
Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Delegate and perform clinic upkeep duties
Manage frame boards and inventory selection with frame reps
Prepare and review lens quotes
Recommend, dispense and repair eyewear
verification of completed eyewear jobs and troubleshoot solutions for adaptation to new eyewear
Communicate with recent and existing patients either in person or on the phone regarding questions pertaining to their eyewear and new products available
Update price lists
Provide assistance in pediatric eye exams as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in an optometry or optical office setting is required
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is highly desirable.
Strong background in patient care with excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare or retail environment is beneficial.
Knowledge of optical products and services is an advantage.
Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry is essential.
Retail sales experience will be considered an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
