The specific accountabilities / responsibilities of this position, while reporting to a single site, require the Home Support Worker to:
Respond to call bells and provide assistance to tenants when alerted
Provide housekeeping services for tenant apartments and common areas
Process tenant’s personal laundry
Perform all necessary tasks in respect to the provisions of dietary services
Provide personal care for tenants as required
Maintain a clean and tidy setting, perform functions associated with waste management, and replenish supplies as needed
Communicate with staff, tenants, tenant families in a courteous and skilled manner
Ensure adherence to ‘Back on Track’ Procedures
Wear required personal protective equipment in accordance with the department’s safety protocols
Ensure all products / chemicals used in support of care services are properly labelled
Be aware of,



immediately remove or report malfunctioning equipment and / or potential safety issues to the proper personnel
Be familiar with and adhere to York Care Centre’s Code of Ethics, all Operational Policies and Procedures
Assist in the orientation of new staff
Participate in all required in-service / on-line education programs

NOTE: Related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.23 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 15.0 per week
