Enhance emergency management strategies in Iqaluit as a Regional Emergency Measures Officer. This key role involves community engagement and developing local preparedness education. Reporting directly to the Manager of Emergency Preparedness, the Regional Emergency Measures Officer is responsible for guiding emergency activities in Nunavut.

This position not only establishes critical emergency management standards and procedures but also promotes engagement through culturally relevant training and education across the region. Key Responsibilities:
Guide emergency management efforts during crises
Draft and communicate emergency preparedness standards
Organize training and community engagement events
Address inquiries from various stakeholders and the public
Act within the Incident Command System as necessary Requirements:
Must be a resident of Iqaluit
Proven experience in emergency management or related fields
Robust skills in public speaking and educational training
Familiarity with the Emergency Measures Act
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities Contribute to the development of essential emergency management practices tailored specifically for the Nunavut territory.
