The Royal Ontario Museum seeks a Curator for Insects & Arachnids to enhance its distinguished collection and engage the public. This role is vital for biodiversity research. Join the Royal Ontario Museum as the Curator of Insects & Arachnids, where you’ll manage a collection renowned for its scientific significance.
This role is intended for motivated scientists dedicated to advancing research, developing cutting-edge exhibitions, and fostering engagement with diverse communities. Collaboration is key within ROM's Natural History Department. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the stewardship of the Insects & Arachnids collection
Conduct and share findings on arthropod biodiversity
Develop community-oriented exhibitions and public engagement programs
Collaborate with teams across ROM for interdisciplinary projects
Mentor and support future scientists and museum professionals Requirements:
PhD in conservation biology, ecology, or related fields
Demonstrated research and publication accomplishments
A minimum of one year in a museum or research setting
Experience in public programming and exhibitions
Robust cooperative and communication capabilities Drive research and public engagement at the ROM with your expertise in entomological collections.
