About the Role:
This position focuses on assisting sushi chefs by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing supplies to facilitate timely and high-quality sushi production. By supporting the sushi chefs and front-of-house staff, the Sushi Bar Helper contributes to an exceptional dining experience for customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a rapid-paced setting and follow instructions accurately.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a sushi bar or similar food service environment.
Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
Certification in food handling or safety.
Solid communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Responsibilities:
Assist sushi chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and cutting vegetables, preparing rice, and organizing seafood.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar area, including utensils, cutting boards, and work surfaces, following health and safety regulations.
Restock ingredients and supplies promptly to ensure continuous operation during service hours.
