Join Black & Veatch as a Substation Engineer focusing on Grid Modernization in Markham, ON, or Calgary, AB. This full time role involves leading cutting-edge IEC 61850 initiatives. As a Substation Engineer, you will develop, document, and implement IEC 61850-based solutions and lead the integration efforts across utilities and team-oriented groups.

Your role encompasses optimizing network performance and ensuring that cybersecurity measures are embedded in architectural designs. You'll also create and manage engineering documentation that drives successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Develop SCL artifacts for substation systems
Optimize network architectures for automation
Integrate vendor IEDs with existing controls
Implement cybersecurity principles into designs
Engage in standards committees for IEC61850 improvements Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Engineering program
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
PE license would be advantageous
Knowledge of virtualization for industrial applications
