Bench Jeweller – Casting, Finishing & Stone Setting
We are looking for an experienced Bench Jeweller to join our precious-metal jewellery workshop. The position primarily involves CZ-studded jewellery, casting, finishing and bench work.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and prepare rubber moulds and waxes
Build wax trees and prepare/invest flasks
Operate burnout furnace and vacuum casting machine
Cast precious-metal jewellery
Cut sprues, file, sand, polish and bring pieces to a high-quality final finish
Perform CZ stone setting and stone replacement
Handle basic jewellery repairs, soldering and general bench work
Identify and correct basic casting/finishing defects
Maintain a clean and organized workshop
Precious Metal Accountability
Strict metal accountability is essential. The jeweller must carefully handle and account for all precious metal,
including castings, sprues, filings, polishing dust, bench sweeps and scrap. Minimizing metal loss and properly collecting all recoverable material is a key responsibility of this position.
Requirements
Hands-on jewellery casting and bench experience
Strong filing, polishing and finishing skills
Stone-setting experience
Basic jewellery repair and soldering skills
Experience working with gold and other precious metals
Experience with 22K/high-karat gold is an asset
Reliable, detail-oriented and able to work independently
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
