Tim Louis & Company is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Paralegal to assist our busy law firm on a part time basis. The position is approximately 10 hours per week for an indeterminate period and is 100% remote.

We are looking for a senior paralegal with experience in one or more of the following practice areas:
Wills and Estates
Estate Litigation
Long-Term Disability matters
Employment Law

The role requires the ability to manage complex legal matters with a high degree of independence, organization, and attention to detail. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with minimal supervision and managing assignments from start to completion.

Responsibilities may include:
Drafting court applications and other court documents
Drafting settlement proposals and correspondence
Reviewing and organizing documentary evidence
Assisting with preparation for discoveries, mediations, and court proceedings
Managing files and ensuring deadlines are met
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties as required




Providing general senior-level paralegal support to counsel

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a paralegal within a law firm
Experience in at least one of the practice areas listed above
Solid legal drafting and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and file-management skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Robust attention to detail
Experience with British Columbia court procedures and litigation practice is an asset

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week

Location: 100% remote

Compensation: $50.00 per hour

This is a freelance position and may be particularly suitable for an experienced paralegal who operates independently or is looking to supplement their existing workload.
