POSITION: Directional Drill Locator

START DATE: Oct 2026

Operation of directional drill for fiber optic installation, the individual is responsible for operation of the equipment and support during all phases of the project.

The driller provides a broad range of support which includes, but not limited to:
Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free.
Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a protected manner.
Complete Driver’s log book & amp; daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports.
Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work.
Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing.
Locate and direct the driller to meet the designated target.
Trouble shoot any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution.
Able to operate the drill locater as required.
Other duties as required.

Experience/Skills:
Safety mindset. Secure production is essential!
Minimum 2 year experience running directional drilling equipment.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with G endorsement.




Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing.
Must have similar previous drilling experience and working around existing buried utilities.
Knowledge of telecom and fiber optic installation, willing to train
Ability to listen and take direction with positive, can-do attitude
Valuable communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to lift (50 lbs).
Clean criminal record check
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety Training as per legislative and job requirements.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
