Job description

Waring House Restaurant and Inn is seeking a Sales and Events Co-ordinator. The position involves seeking clients, receiving requests to host events and following up with customers interested in booking their meeting or event at the Inn, assisting them if accommodation is required and looking after their needs leading up to and including the event. Managing contractual arrangements and invoicing and collection of payment is part of the position, although payment may be delegated to other appropriately qualified staff.



Both positions require a energetic person with exceptional communication skills and an ability to work caringly and patiently with customers to understand and satisfy their needs. Previous experience in event planning and management, knowledge of current wedding and event trends is an asset. The ability to manage deadlines and communicate details to appropriate staff and take direction in company practices is essential in this very service -oriented business. However, an experienced candidate will find Waring House owners and staff interested in creative ideas. A strong customer service ethic is essential as is an ability to work well with our guest services team , housekeeping , service staff and culinary team, our maintenance staff and outside suppliers. Experience with a web based reservations system and catering system such as Five Star would be a major asset. Advanced skills in MS Office, Internet search, and customer relations management are required. The position is full time , with competitive hourly compensation.
