If our ethos resonates with you, we'd love for you to join us!As a technology first company, we're currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team.The Role: As a Senior Data Engineer at FTS, you will report to the Head of Engineering with the responsibility of designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that power our travel technology platform. You will play a key role in ensuring that data is reliable, accessible, and structured to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.Responsibilities:* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.* Develop and manage data warehouse and data lake infrastructure on cloud platforms.* Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business needs.* Define and enforce data quality standards, governance practices, and documentation.* Optimize query performance and data processing for large-scale datasets.* Integrate data from diverse sources including APIs, third-party travel systems, and internal applications.* Support the development of dashboards, reporting tools,



and self-serve analytics capabilities.* Champion data engineering best practices and mentor junior team members.* Work with engineering and DevOps to ensure data platform reliability, security, and compliance.* Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, tools, and architectural patterns.Experience/Skills Required:* 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.* Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or Scala/Java) for data processing.* Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar.* Hands-on experience with designing scalable lakehouse architectures using open table formats such as Apache Iceberg, with deep expertise in AWS data services (S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, Lake Formation).* Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse).* Solid understanding of data modeling, dimensional design, and data warehousing concepts.* Familiarity with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub).* Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Terraform).* Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.* Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Experience in travel technology or airline data systems is an asset.* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.What you can expect from us:* Remote work flexibility (minimum 3 days in office — based in Quebec)* Guidance from senior team members* Collaboration with a supportive and committed team* Prospects for personal and professional development
