The Royal Ontario Museum seeks a Curator for Insects & Arachnids to enhance its distinguished collection and engage the public. This role is vital for biodiversity research.
Join the Royal Ontario Museum as the Curator of Insects & Arachnids, where you’ll manage a collection renowned for its scientific significance. This role is intended for motivated scientists dedicated to advancing research, developing cutting-edge exhibitions, and fostering engagement with diverse communities. Collaboration is key within ROM's Natural History Department.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the stewardship of the Insects & Arachnids collection
• Conduct and share findings on arthropod biodiversity
• Develop community-oriented exhibitions and public engagement programs
• Collaborate with teams across ROM for interdisciplinary projects
• Mentor and support future scientists and museum professionals
Requirements:
• PhD in conservation biology, ecology, or related fields
• Demonstrated research and publication accomplishments
• A minimum of one year in a museum or research setting
• Experience in public programming and exhibitions
• Solid team-oriented and communication capabilities
Drive research and public engagement at the ROM with your expertise in entomological collections.
