There are also opportunities for continuous learning and professional advancement.⚓ What you’ll be doing as key activities: • Provide electrical engineering services in the machinery department of a Canadian Coast Guard ship to support its mandate.



• Plan and carry out maintenance and repair of electrical components of main propulsion machinery, the generator set, auxiliary machinery, deck machinery, hotel services equipment, and other systems. • Monitor the electrical or electronic controls of the main propulsion system during operations in confined, restricted, or shallow water areas. • Assist in developing, modifying, and upgrading electrical or electronic equipment on board. • Participate in inspections conducted by regulatory authorities. • Participate in damage control, firefighting, environmental response, and other drills and operations. • Provide technical advice to the chief engineer and other crew members regarding electrical issues. • Compile and recommend specifications for the refurbishment of electronic systems, additions or modifications to the ship, and other contractual work required for the maintenance of the ship, and supervise the work of contractors and electricians. • Make recommendations to the chief engineer regarding the electrical equipment needs of the engine room. • Provide all necessary support to fulfill the mandate of the Canadian Coast Guard.
