Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 35 to 44 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 1 to less than 7 months or equivalent experience Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Address customers' complaints or concerns Coach colleagues on recent methods or work techniques Professionalism in customer service Drive lighter, special purpose trucks Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Air Brakes Endorsement Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles) S-100 basic fire suppression and safety training Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate Driver's License (Class 3 or D) Documentation knowledge Accident or incident reports Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Trip reports Type of trucking and equipment Tow truck Communication systems experience Operate GPS (Global Positioning System)
