**Job Title: Journeyman Electrician**
**Job Description**
This role offers the opportunity to work as a Journeyman Electrician on new build data center projects and a variety of commercial construction sites across the city.
You will focus on new construction, retrofits, and renovations, applying your journeyman-level expertise to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments.
**Responsibilities**
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on new construction projects, including data centers and commercial buildings.
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately.
Run and bend conduit, including up to 4-inch conduit, to support electrical wiring and cabling requirements.
Pull wire and install electrical wiring, lighting, fire alarms, and related components according to specifications and codes.
Perform retrofits and renovations on existing commercial electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient upgrades.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs to maintain reliable operation of installed systems.
Work on commercial construction sites across various city locations, including downtown and other designated areas.
Operate aerial work platforms (AWP) safely and use fall arrest equipment as required on site.
Follow all safety procedures and practices, including WHMIS and CSTS requirements, while working on industrial and construction sites.
Drive your own vehicle to job sites as required and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Collaborate with site teams and other trades to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
Support weekend work at designated sites when needed, following applicable overtime rules.
**Essential Skills**
Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
Demonstrated experience in new construction, particularly in commercial and industrial environments.
Proficiency in blueprint reading for electrical installations.
Strong experience in commercial construction projects, including new builds and tenant improvements.
Hands-on experience with retrofits and renovations of existing electrical systems.
Ability to bend conduit, including 4-inch conduit, accurately and efficiently.
Experience running conduit and pulling wire in commercial and industrial settings.
Knowledge of electrical wiring, lighting installation, and repair practices.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues safely.
Capability to drive and provide your own vehicle to travel to job sites.
Current WHMIS certification.
Current CSTS certification.
AWP (Aerial Work Platform) and Fall arrest certification.
Experience working with fire alarm systems in commercial construction.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Background in industrial electrical installation and repair.
Experience working on data center projects or similar high-demand facilities.
Familiarity with cable installation and management in commercial and industrial environments.
Ability to work across multiple sites in different city locations as project needs require.
Comfort working on both weekday and weekend shifts when required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following electrical codes and safety standards.
Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with other trades and site personnel.

**Work Environment**
You will work primarily on a data center project in the northeast area, with the possibility of assignments at additional commercial sites in the southwest part of the city.
The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime paid after 44 hours in a week.
Weekend work may be available at certain sites, with enhanced overtime rates on Saturdays and Sundays.
The environment is typical of commercial and industrial construction, involving work with electrical wiring, conduit, lighting, fire alarms, and related equipment.
You will use aerial work platforms and fall arrest systems where required and follow established safety protocols, including WHMIS and CSTS guidelines.
You are expected to travel to sites using your own vehicle and be prepared for active, hands-on work in a construction setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
