**Job Title: Forklift Operator - Reach & Sit down**
**Pay: 22$**
**Location: South West Edmonton**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on receiving industrial supplies and materials by operating a sit-down forklift for most of the day, unloading and loading containers, and accurately verifying shipments against documentation.

The position combines hands-on material handling with detailed paperwork review and regular communication with drivers and warehouse team members.
**Responsibilities**
Operate a sit-down forklift to unload and load containers of industrial supplies such as valves and other large parts for the majority of the workday.

Use reach forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed to move, stage, and store inventory safely and efficiently.

Receive incoming product, cross-reference paperwork to crates and products, and verify accuracy against bills of lading, purchase orders, and other shipping documents.

Review and process shipping and receiving documentation, including BOLs and PO numbers, and support cross-border documentation requirements when needed.

Read and interpret picking tickets, heat tracing numbers, and serial numbers to ensure correct identification and placement of inventory.

Communicate clearly with drivers, warehouse staff, and other departments to confirm deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and verify documentation.

Occasionally step off the forklift to manually handle product, inspect shipments, and assist with verification tasks.

Maintain accurate inventory by properly labeling, organizing, and recording received materials in coordination with warehouse processes.

Demonstrate solid problem-solving skills to address issues with shipments, documentation, or inventory discrepancies.

Support overall warehouse cleanliness and organization by sweeping, tidying, and helping keep work areas orderly during slower periods.

Collaborate with pickers, quality control, packers, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of incoming materials.

Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines while working in the warehouse and around material handling equipment.
**Essential Skills**
Proven ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently; in-house or expired certification is acceptable.

Experience operating a reach forklift or reach truck in a warehouse or material handling environment.

Hands-on shipping and receiving experience, including working with BOLs, PO numbers, and standard receiving documentation.

Ability to read and interpret picking tickets, heat tracing numbers, and serial numbers with a high level of attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with drivers, team members, and other departments.

Solid problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues with shipments, documentation, and inventory.

Reliable transportation to and from the facility, as public transit is not available to this location.

Comfort working with industrial parts such as valves and other large components in a warehouse setting.

Ability to perform material handling tasks, including unloading, order picking, and inventory organization.





Willingness to assist with general warehouse housekeeping and organization when workload is light.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous experience working with valves or other large industrial parts is an asset.

Experience using jib cranes or similar lifting equipment in a warehouse or industrial environment is beneficial.

Familiarity with RF scanners and basic inventory systems for order picking and receiving is advantageous.

Knowledge of cross-border documentation processes for shipments is a plus.

Experience in shipping and receiving within a multi-department warehouse is helpful.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a busy warehouse that operates alongside an assembly area in the same building, with a team of approximately 12 or more people.

The warehouse includes several departments, such as picking, quality control, packing, and receiving, each with dedicated staff and supervisory support.

You regularly use sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment, and may work with jib cranes and RF scanners depending on tasks.

The afternoon tends to be the busiest part of the day and may occasionally require additional effort to keep up with workload.

During slower periods, you are expected to help with cleaning and organizing the warehouse to maintain a safe and orderly workspace.

The environment is hands-on, collaborative, and focused on safety and efficiency, with practical work attire suitable for warehouse operations.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edmonton, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
