Out-of-Town Plumbing Foreman

Job Description

South East Mechanical continues to grow and expand our plumbing division, We Love Plumbing Ltd. We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Foreman to lead and oversee our out-of-town plumbing projects.

This position is ideal for an experienced Journeyperson Plumber who is comfortable taking ownership of a job site, leading a crew, coordinating work, and working away from home on scheduled rotations.

This position includes a $3,000 signing bonus payable after six months of continuous employment.

Position Overview

The Plumbing Foreman will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of out-of-town plumbing job sites. You will work closely with Project Managers to keep projects organized, productive, on schedule, and completed to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate must be comfortable supervising and directing a crew while also working alongside the team when required.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Management

- Lead and supervise plumbing crews on out-of-town commercial and residential projects.
- Plan daily and weekly work activities and assign tasks to Journeypersons and apprentices.
- Act as the main in office point of contact for Project Managers, general contractors, and other trades.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, deliveries, and site requirements.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, schedules, and quality of workmanship.
- Identify job-site issues early and communicate them to the Project Manager before they impact schedule or productivity.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and productive job site.
- Help keep projects moving by planning ahead for upcoming work and material requirements.

Technical & Field Work

- Perform and oversee the installation, repair,



and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide direction to crew members.
- Coordinate plumbing installations with other trades and building systems.
- Track materials, tools, equipment, and job-site requirements.
- Identify drawing conflicts, missing information, or potential changes and communicate them to the Project Manager.

Safety, Quality & Accountability

- Lead by example and enforce company safety policies and site-specific requirements.
- Ensure crews complete required safety documentation.
- Maintain high standards for workmanship and job-site cleanliness.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
- Monitor crew productivity and help ensure labour is being used effectively.
- Communicate project progress, concerns, delays, and site conditions with management.

What We’re Looking For

- Journeyperson Plumber certification.
- Previous Foreman, Lead Hand, or plumbing crew leadership experience.
- Strong commercial construction plumbing experience.
- Experience independently running or assisting in running job sites.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication,



organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage crews and maintain productivity with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Willing and able to work out of town on scheduled rotations.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Domestic B Gas Fitter licence preferred.
- Gas Fitter A licence is a strong asset and may qualify for higher compensation.

- To qualify for the retention bonus, the employee must remain actively employed with South East Mechanical for the full six-month period and be in good standing at the time the bonus is paid.
- If employment ends before the six-month requirement is completed, the retention bonus will not be payable.
