Kawartha Capital Corp (KCC) is a community-based landscape supply and trucking company servicing Peterborough and surrounding areas. Established in 1998, KCC has grown and expanded in response to customer needs. KCC has four core business divisions: Trucking and Float Services, Landscape Supply, Slinger Service.

Job Title: 310T Apprentice

Category: Mechanic

Hours 6am - 6pm

Reports to: Shop Lead

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

· Identify potential workplace health and safety hazards

· Handle, store and dispose of hazardous materials

· Wear and maintain personal protective equipment

· Comply with workplace-related legislation

· Comply with WHMIS guidelines

· Shadow licensed 310T mechanics to complete various tasks of our fleet of trucks and equipment.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot batteries

· Service, boost, and/or charge batteries

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair the following systems and their components:

· Repair system warning devices

· Repair coach destination signs

· Perform mechanical diesel engine tune-up

· Perform electronic diesel engine tune-up

Qualifications and Experience

· A grade 12 diploma from a reputable school

· Is registered through the Ontario Colleges of Trades

· Previous apprenticeship training an asset

· Able to work well with others

Hours of Work

Hours are from 6am to 6pm from Monday to Friday. Hours of work is 8 hours a day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The work week will encompass working 40 to 44 hours a week depending on business needs.
