Duties
Canada is navigating significant economic change, increasing global competition and evolving geopolitical realities — making strong, forward-looking leadership more key than ever. Strong analysis, sound science and good policy advice remain essential, but Canadians will ultimately measure success through the results they can see and experience. This is an opportunity to bring your leadership to issues that matter deeply to our country, to challenge what is possible, and to leave a lasting mark on Canada’s future. If you are ready to lead with purpose, shape what comes next and serve at a moment that truly matters, NRCan wants to hear from you.

Work workplace
As the Assistant Deputy Minister, Fuels Sector at Natural Resources Canada, you will lead work at the centre of Canada’s energy and economic priorities. The Fuels Sector supports Canada’s national energy priorities across the fuels and biofuels industry, leading a whole-of-government approach to policies and programs that advance conventional and low-carbon fuels domestically and internationally. Its work contributes to reducing emissions while enabling economic growth, supporting workers and communities — including Indigenous communities — and strengthening energy security and affordability.
