JRoberts Defence & Security is a Canadian company specializing in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of military vehicles under contract with the Department of National Defence (DND). We are a trusted partner providing in-service support to Canada's Light Utility Vehicle Wheeled (LUVW) fleet, more commonly known as the G-Wagon.
These highly specialized vehicles are heavily modified and unlike any others in the world. Our mission is to set the standard in life-cycle support for this iconic and highly capable military vehicle platform.
About the Vehicle Fleet
The G-Wagon is utilized by Regular and Reserve Force units, as well as military training establishments, to provide tactical transportation for command and control, liaison, reconnaissance, and military police operations.

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, modifying, and testing military vehicles to ensure they meet operational and safety requirements.
This position requires a high level of accountability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. The successful candidate will contribute to a clean, safe, and productive work environment while supporting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform general vehicle service and preventive maintenance.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and driveline systems.
- Conduct vehicle safety inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, engine, and electrical systems.
- Complete modifications and installations in accordance with engineering specifications and military requirements.
- Test vehicles to verify repairs and operational performance.
- Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately and on time.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly updates on assigned workloads and project status to management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of automotive technician experience.
- Automotive Service Technician (310S) certification is considered an asset.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with diesel engines is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures.
- Valid G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
