Safety Administrator – Transportation & Logistics

About the Role

The Better Together Group is recruiting an experienced Safety Administrator for our client, an established transportation and logistics operation in Mississauga. This role supports day-to-day transportation safety and compliance, including maintaining driver files, tracking required documentation, and assisting with onboarding, audits, and incident follow-up. The ideal candidate has experience supporting AZ and DZ commercial drivers, strong administrative skills, and excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate, complete, and current driver safety and compliance files.

*
Review driver abstracts, licences, medical documentation, training records, and certificates.

*
Track document expiry dates and follow up with drivers to obtain renewals.

*
Assist with new driver onboarding and safety orientation.

*
Monitor hours of service records, vehicle inspections, violations, and other compliance documentation.

*
Assist with accident and incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up.

*
Communicate with drivers and management regarding safety policies, procedures,



and documentation requirements.

*
Support the Safety Manager with audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives.

*
Prepare safety reports and maintain organized records.

*
Support the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies.

*
Perform related administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

*
Previous experience in transportation safety administration is required.

*
Experience working with AZ and DZ commercial drivers.

*
Knowledge of Ontario transportation and commercial vehicle safety requirements.

*
Familiarity with Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR), Hours of Service, driver abstracts, Ministry of Transportation (MTO) requirements, and National Safety Code (NSC) compliance is an asset.

*
Strong computer, administrative, and record-keeping skills.

*
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

*
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

*
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

*
Experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics is strongly preferred.
