Dieffenbacher is an international company that develops and manufactures hydraulic presses and complete production systems for the wood panel and automotive industries. Dieffenbacher’s Composite Business Unit is looking for an Electrical Service Technician to be based at our Windsor Ontario office. Job responsibilities at the Windsor office are focused around manufacturing of new equipment. However, this position’s main duties will be to install new equipment as well as upgrade and repair existing Dieffenbacher equipment at customer sites across North America.
· Permanent, full time, hourly position, based on 40 hour week
· Overtime to be worked as required and will be compensated

Responsibilities:
· Work under direction of Service Manager and Electrical Engineer
· Installation and commissioning of complete hydraulic press lines
· Provide programming and electrical service and support for Dieffenbacher hydraulic presses and related equipment at customer sites across North America
· Provide operations and maintenance training to customers
· Troubleshoot electrical equipment in fast paced production environments
· Develop solutions on site with the support of the team in Windsor and German Headquarters
· Supervision on site of installation and maintenance personnel provided by the customers
· PLC programming and HMI modifications
Requirements:
Reading and interpreting job specifications, blueprints, engineering or design drawings and schematics.
· College Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
· 3+ Years’ practical experience
· Readiness for travel activity. Able to travel globally. Anticipated travel 50% of time.
· Experience in an industrial setting
· Creative problem solving skills
· Ability to work in a challenging and changing environment
· Good understanding of new and old control systems
· Initiative and leadership skills
· Enjoy working in a team
· Able to work under pressure and be flexible
· Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
· Foreign language skills are an advantage
· Experience with heavy duty machines processing plastic materials would be beneficial
· Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems would be an asset
· Familiarity with European and North American electrical drawings and schematics
· PLC Programming experience (Siemens, Allen Bradley..)
· Familiar with industry electrical standards (ISO, CSA, IEEE, ANSI…)
