Production Assistant — Part-Time and Full-Time Positions

Who we are
Hummingbird is a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate maker recognized for excellence. Based in Almonte, Ontario, we’re expanding production to meet growing demand across Canada.
The role
We’re hiring part-time and full-time Production Assistants. This is a hands-on role that includes both making chocolate and packaging finished products. You’ll work alongside our chocolate makers throughout the production process and help keep things moving each day.
Tasks include:
- Assisting chocolate makers during production runs
- Operating production equipment with hands-on training
- Packaging finished chocolate products
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and workspaces
- Supporting other production tasks as needed
Training & growth
You’ll receive formal and hands-on training in food and workplace safety, equipment operation, and quality control.
What we’re looking for
- No experience required; we’re looking for people who are eager to learn
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Comfort lifting up to 15 kg regularly and standing for long periods
- Good verbal and written communication
- Reliability and punctuality
Details
- Location: Almonte, ON, about 35 minutes west of downtown Ottawa. There is no public transit access; your own transportation is required.
- Hours: Part-time and full-time positions available. Full-time hours are typically 37–40 per week.
- Schedule: Full-time positions are five days per week, including one weekend day.
