Event Set Up Crew (Temporary / Contract / On-Call)About Our Client

Our client is an established, full-service event production and exhibition partner renowned across British Columbia for bringing trade shows, consumer conventions, and premier corporate gatherings to life. With decades of industry leadership, they specialize in rapid, seamless event transformations across leading convention centres and show venues.

What You Will Be Doing, as an Event Set Up Crew Member:

- Assemble and dismantle event structures, including pipe and drape, display booths, kiosks, staging, and display counters.
- Unload, transport, and distribute equipment, tables, chairs, event hardware, and freight from delivery trucks to event floor locations.
- Lay temporary exhibition carpeting, runner materials, and tape floor seams safely and neatly.
- Install venue signage, banners, and decorative backdrops as directed by site supervisors.
- Assist with rapid post-event teardowns ("strikes"), packing equipment securely into crates and loading trucks for transport.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work setting before, during, and after event operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

What You Should Have, as an Event Set Up Crew Member:

- Previous experience in event setup/teardown, stagehand support, warehouse work, moving, or general labour is an asset.
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety footwear (mandatory) and willingness to wear required PPE.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
- Good verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to travel to assigned site venues across the region.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

In Return, You Will Receive:

- Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
- Paid weekly, every Tuesday.
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it.
- Flexible, event-based scheduling with overtime opportunities available.

- Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM and on weekends.

The Shift You Will Be Working is:

- Schedule: On-call / Project-based (varies based on event dates, setup windows, and show requirements).
- Shifts Available: Morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts available, including weekday and weekend options.
- Shift schedules and call-times are confirmed in advance for scheduled setup and teardown phases.

Where You Will Be Working, as an Event Set Up Crew Member:

- Locations: Various leading exhibition venues, convention centres, and arenas across Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Whistler, BC.
- Work assignments depend on event bookings. Many central locations are easily accessible by public transit; for outlying or late-night calls, personal transportation or organized carpooling is an asset.
