Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, IT and Maintenance, the Maintenance 3 conducts a variety of complex maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance tasks that are specific to all individual trades and technical disciplines. Performs a variety of other tasks related to general cleaning, furniture or equipment moving and grounds keeping duties. Assists other Maintenance staff as required
The incumbent also acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of the Foundation.
Qualifications
· 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate a trade on the Government of Alberta list of Compulsory and Optional Certification Trades is required. Refer to the link for a list of trades – www.tradesecrets.alberta.ca
Additional technical training in a related field preferred. (e.g. Luminaires certificate,
Small Engine Basics or Powered Equipment Operator)
Experience:
- 5 years in a hospital maintenance setting preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
· Must have very valuable customer service skills
· Must have very good interpersonal skills
· Must be detail-oriented and organized
· Computer skills required. e.g. Microsoft Office (Includes Outlook, Word, Excel)
· Must be able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing
· Must be able to use required tools and equipment related to maintenance repair and testing
· Must be able to maintain composure and make decisions in emergency situations
· Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and specifications and locate operational data from operating and maintenance manuals
· Must demonstrate technical problems solving abilities and be mechanically inclined
Licenses:
· Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
. May be required to hold a certification in order to operate mobile equipment
