Job Objective/Summary
A Child Care Advisor/Home Visitor is responsible for the management and administration of licensed home child care services provided through the Agency, in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), its regulations, and the Agency’s operating standards and procedures. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships with home child care providers, families, and colleagues.
Start Date: November/December 2026
Location: Most office work is completed from your own home office, with several monthly visits to home child care locations in Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Manotick, Riverside South, and surrounding areas, as well as occasional visits to the main office in Manotick.
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to set your own work schedule.
Duties Include:
- working directly as a support and advisor to home child care Providers and Parents/Guardians;
- screening, interviewing, and training prospective home child care Providers;
- monitoring and visiting home child care locations overseen by the Agency;
- ensuring that Providers and their locations meet or exceed requirements;
- communicating effectively with Providers and Parents/Guardians;
- program planning for children of various ages;
- managing and maintaining files, database information, and other administrative documentation;
- collecting and organizing documents to ensure compliance with Ministry of Education administrative requirements;
- working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent support and information; and
- performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree and Registered Early Childhood Educator (in good standing);
- a minimum of two years of experience working in the child care sector with children 0- to 4-years-old, and older (experience in home child care is an asset);
- current Standard/Intermediate First Aid + Level ‘C’ CPR certification (less than three-years-old); and
- a clear vulnerable sector check (required upon hire).
