Duties
- Assist with the daily care and management of livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health.
- Assist with calving and perform calving checks and provide assistance to any calves or cows that need help.
- Handle & sort cattle
- Perform maintenance on farm machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, loaders, or other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, fencing, planting, or other maintenance tasks.
- Conduct general farm upkeep such as repairing fences and maintaining buildings.
- Assist with putting up feed.
Skills
- Some mechanical inclination for basic operation and maintenance
- Preferably cattle handling, herd health and calving experience
- Physically fit and capable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for various maintenance tasks.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and performing outdoor labor in all weather conditions.
