仕事内容: KEY — Event Date Commitment Required
This role requires 100% commitment to all three event dates:
- November 1, 2026 — Japanese Tea Festival
- January 16, 2027 — Toronto Tea Festival
- January 17, 2027 — Toronto Tea Festival
Applicants must be available to work all three dates.
Lead Our Tea Festival Experiences
Hokusan Tea Canada is looking for an Event Lead to take ownership of planning, coordinating, and executing our presence at tea events in Toronto.
This is not an assistant role. You’ll lead event preparation, coordinate our team, vendors, and volunteers, and make sure everything runs smoothly from planning through execution.
For the Toronto Tea Festival, Hokusan will have three booths featuring Japanese tea, tea-related products, food, tastings, and experiences inspired by this year’s theme, “Tea That Enriches Everyday Life.”
If you’re organized, proactive, creative, and calm under pressure, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Lead event planning: Manage timelines, preparation, vendors, and event organizers.
- Own the booth experience: Plan booth layout, product displays, tastings, customer flow, and staffing.
- Coordinate the team: Assign tasks to employees and volunteers and oversee setup, restocking, and teardown.
- Manage logistics: Oversee inventory, supplies, transportation, and event-day operations.
- Lead on-site: Monitor the overall event, solve problems, and make decisions as needed.
- Post-event: Organize results and feedback and prepare a short report with recommendations for future events.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Proactive — you see what needs to be done and take action.
- Organized — you can manage many moving pieces at once.
- A natural leader — you’re comfortable coordinating people and delegating tasks.
- Calm under pressure — when something goes wrong, you focus on solving it.
- A strong communicator — you’re comfortable speaking with vendors,
staff, volunteers, and event organizers.
- Resourceful — you can make practical decisions without needing constant direction.
- Creative — you enjoy thinking about how people experience a space, product, or event.
- Collaborative and friendly — you know how to lead while being a good team member.
Experience
Previous experience in event coordination, hospitality, project coordination, retail, marketing activations, operations, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with events, festivals, pop-ups, markets, vendors, inventory, or team coordination is a strong plus.
You don’t need to have the title “Event Manager” on your resume. If you’ve successfully taken ownership of a project and can demonstrate strong organization, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you.
Experience or interest in Japanese tea, food & beverage, hospitality, or Japanese culture is a plus.
Why Join Us?
- Real ownership: Lead major public events from planning through execution.
- Build your experience: Gain hands-on experience in event management, operations, and customer experience.
- Creative freedom: Help shape our booth design, product displays, tastings, and overall event experience.
- Flexible & remote-first: Work primarily remotely with flexible weekdays.
- Japanese tea & culture: Learn and work closely with Japanese tea products and culture.
