Qualifications – Food Manufacturing Facility

- 2–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations
- Food production or food manufacturing experience required
- Strong understanding of FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation
- Food safety knowledge, including HACCP, required
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) required
- Forklift licence required or willingness to obtain one quickly
- Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, and shipping software
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous team leadership experience is an asset
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Dependable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on your feet for most of the day
- Ability to work in cold areas as required
- Ability to work overtime when needed
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 3 months, with the opportunity for full-time permanent employment
- Pay Rate: $20–$23/hr, based on experience
- Hours: Full-Time, with overtime as required

Responsibilities:
Shipping/Receiving Lead Hands are responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations and supporting the warehouse team to ensure orders are prepared and shipped accurately and on time. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Coordinate daily shipping activities and ensure orders are packed and shipped on time
- Lead a small team by assigning tasks, training new employees, and supporting team development
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks
- Verify products, quantities, labels, and packaging before orders leave the facility
- Complete shipping paperwork and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and office teams to keep orders moving efficiently




- Communicate with truck drivers and delivery companies
- Ensure employees follow workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected shipping area
- Follow FIFO inventory rotation procedures
- Follow GMP and food safety requirements, including HACCP standards
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes and overall efficiency

Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.

Experience:

- 2–3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience
- Food production or food manufacturing experience required
- Experience working with FIFO inventory systems
- Previous experience leading or training warehouse staff is an asset
- Experience with shipping documentation and warehouse systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
