A well-established automotive dealer group in Mid-Town Toronto is seeking an experienced General Manager to provide leadership and oversight of dealership operations.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished automotive retail professional with extensive dealership experience and a proven track record as a General Manager. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who understands all areas of dealership operations and knows how to build strong teams, drive performance, maintain accountability, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership and direction for dealership operations, including New and Pre-Owned Sales, Finance, Fixed Operations and Administration.
- Lead, coach and hold department managers accountable for achieving established performance and profitability objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase sales, gross profit, market share, customer retention and overall dealership performance.
- Review dealership financial and operational results and take action where performance is below expectations.
- Work closely with Sales, Service, Parts and Finance leadership to ensure departments operate effectively and collaboratively.
- Maintain appropriate expense controls and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee inventory management, including new and pre-owned vehicle inventory, aging and turn.
- Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction and ensure customer concerns are addressed professionally and promptly.
- Recruit, develop and retain strong managers and employees while building a culture of accountability, teamwork and high performance.
- Establish clear expectations and ensure managers consistently follow through on commitments and responsibilities.
- Ensure dealership operations comply with manufacturer requirements, company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.




- Maintain a professional dealership environment and consistently represent the standards expected of a leading automotive retail organization.
- Work closely with ownership and senior leadership on dealership performance, business planning and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

- Extensive experience in automotive retail is required.
- Previous General Manager experience within an automotive dealership is required.
- Robust understanding of all dealership departments, including variable and fixed operations.
- Demonstrated history of successfully managing dealership financial performance and profitability.
- Strong knowledge of dealership financial statements, KPIs, inventory management and expense control.
- Proven ability to lead and develop department managers and build accountable, high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of customer satisfaction and manufacturer performance expectations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, results-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment.
- Must be willing to be hands-on and present in the operation, with the flexibility to work the hours required of a senior dealership leader.

We are looking for someone who combines strong business and financial acumen with visible, hands-on leadership. This individual should be comfortable setting high expectations, making difficult decisions when necessary, supporting their management team and taking ownership of the dealership's overall results.

Pay: $150,000.00-$250,000.00 per year
