Maderra Engineering is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Junior/Intermediate Structural Designer in St. John's, NL.

Located in St. John's, Newfoundland, Maderra Engineering Inc. provides Engineering, Design, Project Management, and Technical Services, as well as Recruitment and Staffing Services to the Energy, Utility, Mining, and Commercial sectors.

We are currently recruiting technical staff to join our home office Engineering team located on Hebron Way, St. John’s.

Responsibilities

Working with the Structural Engineering and Design team, the Structural Designer will:

· Prepare detailed design and drafting of Structural systems in steel and, concrete

· Conduct site visits, inspections, and field reviews; prepare observation reports and provide recommendations as required.

· Perform shop drawing reviews.

· Support Structural Engineers with project execution, ensuring designs meet applicable codes and client requirements.

· Collaborate with engineering and design teams on multidisciplinary projects to deliver integrated design solutions.

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:





· Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

· Minimum 4 years of relevant structural design and drafting experience (preferred minimum 3 years experience in Canada).

· Strong technical knowledge in the design of steel and concrete wood, and masonry structures.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.

· Experience with 3D modelling using AutoCAD 3D and Navisworks would be an asset.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with Clients and the design team in the resolution of project related issues.

· Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a rapid-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.

· Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or as part of a collaborative team.
