Beyond Disability Services is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing multidisciplinary clinical team.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide assessment, treatment planning, intervention, consultation, and clinical supervision for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and other communication and developmental needs.

Our clients may require support with expressive and receptive language, speech production, social communication, functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), literacy-related communication skills, and other areas within the scope of speech-language pathology.

This is an opportunity to help develop and grow speech-language services within a community-based organization while working collaboratively with families, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Behaviour Analysts, Instructor Therapists, Occupational Therapists, developmental support staff, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments based on each client's communication needs, strengths, developmental profile, and goals.
- Assess areas including receptive and expressive language, speech sound production, social communication, functional communication, fluency, voice, and other communication needs within the SLP's scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, clinical goals, and recommendations based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct individual and small-group speech-language intervention when clinically appropriate.
- Develop and oversee programs targeting functional communication, expressive and receptive language, articulation, social communication, and related communication skills.
- Assess clients for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs and recommend appropriate communication systems, strategies, and supports.
- Support clients, families, and staff in the implementation and generalization of AAC and other communication strategies across environments.
- Provide education, coaching, and consultation to families and caregivers to support communication development outside of therapy sessions.
- Provide clinical direction, supervision,



and delegation to Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) in accordance with professional standards and the SLP's scope of practice.
- Develop intervention programs and therapy activities for implementation by CDAs under appropriate supervision.
- Review clinical data, documentation, and client progress and modify treatment plans as required.
- Collaborate with Behaviour Analysts, Instructor Therapists, Occupational Therapists, program staff, educators, families, and other professionals to support coordinated care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, clinical meetings, and individualized care planning.
- Provide recommendations to Beyond Disability Services staff regarding communication supports, environmental strategies, visual supports, and accommodations.
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate assessment reports, treatment plans, progress notes, supervision records, and other clinical documentation.
- Ensure services comply with applicable privacy, consent, documentation, professional, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-informed practices in speech-language pathology and developmental services.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of speech-language pathology services within Beyond Disability Services.

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized program.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Eligible to practise Speech-Language Pathology in Ontario.
- Professional liability insurance as required by the regulatory college.
- Experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual or developmental disabilities is considered a strong asset.




- Experience with AAC assessment and implementation is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of speech, language, social communication, and functional communication development.
- Experience supervising or working collaboratively with Communicative Disorders Assistants is considered an asset.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, strengths-based, and family-centred practice.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
