We are currently seeking a skilled Machinist II to join a growing manufacturing team in Barrie. This role is well suited for an experienced CNC machinist who is comfortable with machine set-ups, precision measurements, blueprint reading, and operating a variety of machining equipment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in producing quality parts to exact specifications while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Pay Rate: $22.00 to $26.00/hour (based on experience)

Shift Schedule

- Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

- Independently perform machine set-ups on CNC equipment
- Operate and monitor CNC mills, lathes, saws, laser cutters, rolling machines, and other machining equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances
- Manufacture parts according to work instructions and specifications
- Inspect and verify finished parts using precision measuring tools
- Adjust machine offsets and make minor program modifications as required
- Identify quality issues and work with supervisors to resolve concerns
- Support and assist with training team members when required
- Participate in workplace organization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of CNC machining or machine set-up experience
- Knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Micrometers
- Bore gauges
- Height gauges
- Combination squares
- Ability to safely operate multiple types of machining equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good math,



communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting
- Experience with HAAS CNC equipment is considered an asset
- Willingness to work overtime when required

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and machine controls
- Ability to bend, reach, crouch, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
- Comfortable working around production equipment and machinery

Safety & PPE RequirementsRequired PPE

- CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
- Safety glasses
- Any additional PPE required for specific work areas

All employees will receive workplace safety orientation and training before beginning work.

Working Conditions

Candidates may be exposed to:

- Manufacturing equipment and machinery noise
- Repetitive machining and inspection tasks
- Metal, plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel materials
- Standing for extended periods
- Fast-paced production schedules
- Overtime requirements during peak production periods
