We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our business. This role is ideal for someone looking for a long-term, stable position who has hands-on experience with daily accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will manage bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, and tax filings while also supporting customer and vendor communications related to accounting matters. This position requires strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, service-based workplace.
ResponsibilitiesDaily Bookkeeping & Data Entry
- Perform daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
- Accurately enter invoices, bills, payments, and expenses
- Issue customer invoices and sales receipts and record incoming payments
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain clean, accurate, and organized accounting records
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor bills, payment scheduling, and follow-ups
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, and customer follow-up
- Communicate with customers regarding invoices and payment-related inquiries
Payroll & Compliance
- Calculate and process payroll accurately and on time
- Prepare and process payroll remittances
- Prepare and file monthly GST returns/remittances
- Maintain payroll and tax records for compliance purposes
Email & Administrative Support
- Monitor and respond to accounting-related emails
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal staff on billing matters
- Support general accounting and administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, including AP/AR, invoicing, payroll, and reconciliations
- Experience with payroll processing and GST filings
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to follow established processes and work independently
- Reliable, responsible, and able to handle confidential financial information
- Committed to a long-term position
- Experience in HVAC, construction, or other service-based industries is an asset
- Fluency in spoken Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset for supporting our Chinese-speaking clients
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Compensation
- $24–$30 per hour, or an annual salary, depending on experience
