Position Summary

In the role of your position as a Residential Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility is completing unit renovations as assigned by the Property Portfolio Manager for Macro Properties. This position is responsible for multiple locations, working both indoors and outdoors. The Residential Maintenance Technician strives to give the residents professional, timely and competent service, for all maintenance related requests.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of experience working in the maintenance field and have the ability to perform general maintenance in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC,



boiler systems and appliances
- Must have a solid understanding of the maintenance and operational routines of large mechanical equipment including but not limited to: pumps, motors, boiler systems, etc.
- Must be available for after hour maintenance and emergency services
- Fireman’s Certificate for boiler systems is an asset
- Experience in Trades is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle is required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Must have a clear criminal background check

Skills and Abilities

- Problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Able to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work in a variety of weather conditions (with temperatures ranging from -30C to +30)
- Able to communicate effectively

1) Renovations

- Perform full renovating and remodeling of units including: plumbing, painting, locksmith repairs, and other maintenance related duties as assigned
- Maintain and repair gutters, downspouts, flashings, shakes, unitized roofing materials, and panel roofing systems
- Maintain and repair walls and wall coverings of residential buildings including roll wall coverings and paint
- Maintain and repair ceramic tiles, vinyl tiles, laminate,



linoleum, carpet and underlay in residential buildings
- Maintain proper records of scheduled maintenance

2) Additional Duties

· Respond to emergency maintenance requests when necessary

- Ensure that security and safety measures are in place
- Work with external vendors to source products/services for repair work
- Familiar with Landlord and Tenant legal considerations as they relate to repairs, changes or improvements
- Ensure work is completed in a timely manner, within budget and to Macro Properties safety standards
- Maintain company supplied vehicle in sound operating condition with routine preventative maintenance and notify the company of any required repairs
- Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations
- Report to work on time with a professional appearance
- Assist other employees as required by Property Manager
- Responsibilities are not limited to what is outlined above and may change

Working Conditions and Other Attributes

- Use and operate hand/power tools
- Use and operate equipment such as power lawn mowers and small tractors
- Repetitive tasks and physically demanding work (i.e. walking, bending, climbing and kneeling)
- Able to lift up to 23 kg (50lbs)

Job Types: Permanent, Full time

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Experience:

- plumbing: 2 years (preferred)
- carpentry: 3 years (preferred)
