This course builds on skills learned in Wheel Throwing ART 290AR. Intermediate ceramics students who have mastered the basics of wheel throwing will further learn about and develop techniques of throwing clay forms. They will explore the myriad ways the potter’s wheel is used in contemporary ceramics practices from functional through sculptural approaches.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must possess an MFA in Ceramics or closely related visual arts field (BFA/equivalent for currently registered University/Graduate Teaching Fellows), or equivalent, with evidence of a contemporary Ceramics practice, and an active record of dissemination in Ceramics. University teaching experience is preferred.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Other Work Hours
ART 390AT is currently scheduled for Saturdays from 1430-1715.
Winter 2027 classes run from Jan.6-Apr.12 with exams running from Apr. 15-28, 2027.
