Job Description

Misty Pines Bakery and Cafe is located in the Old City Quarter downtown Nanaimo. We are open from 8 am-3 pm and open 7 days a week. We are looking for a morning baker that is reliable, hard working and can keep up a quick pace during a busy morning bake off. This person will also need to time management and great communication skills. The shift is 3:15 am -11:15 am.

Duties

- General Prep: Mixing doughs, proofing and baking bread and pastries, feeding starters, chopping/peeling/cutting fruits and vegetables for various jams and fillings
- Laminating and shaping croissants
- Making and decorating various tarts, puffs, and cookies
- Maintain the quality and freshness of ingredients
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, including equipment,



personal tools and utensils; understand and abide by Health & Safety standards and Food Safe requirements
- Monitor and log shortages as required
- Cleaning down work area and writing an accurate prep list for the next day
- Must be available weekends and holidays
