About Us

Bittersweet Symphony is a busy, high-volume bakery specializing in custom cakes, wedding cakes, desserts, pastries and large-scale orders. We are looking for a talented and efficient Cake Decorator to join our friendly and creative team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced bakery, takes pride in their work and can maintain excellent quality while completing orders on time.

Responsibilities

- Decorate birthday cakes, wedding cakes, custom cakes and other specialty desserts
- Apply buttercream smoothly and complete piping, borders and decorative finishes
- Work with fondant, edible images, chocolate decorations, flowers and cake toppers
- Follow customer orders, design instructions and reference images accurately
- Produce consistent, high-quality work in a high-volume bakery environment
- Manage multiple orders while meeting daily production deadlines
- Prepare buttercream, fillings and other decorating materials as required
- Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe workstation
- Communicate clearly with other decorators, bakers and front-of-house team members
- Assist with packaging, labelling and organizing completed orders
- Support the team during busy weekends, wedding season and holiday periods

Qualifications

- Previous skilled cake-decorating experience is preferred
- Strong buttercream piping and cake-finishing skills
- Experience with custom and wedding cakes is an asset
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality




- Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills
- Dependable, punctual and organized
- Able to follow instructions and work independently when required
- Positive attitude and ability to work well within a friendly team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery
- Must be available for some weekends and busy holiday periods
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
