Tim Louis & Company is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Paralegal to assist our busy law firm on a part-time basis. The position is approximately 10 hours per week for an indeterminate period and is 100% remote.

We are looking for a senior paralegal with experience in one or more of the following practice areas:

- Wills and Estates
- Estate Litigation
- Long-Term Disability matters
- Employment Law

The role requires the ability to manage complex legal matters with a high degree of independence, organization, and attention to detail. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with minimal supervision and managing assignments from start to completion.

Responsibilities may include:

- Drafting court applications and other court documents
- Drafting settlement proposals and correspondence
- Reviewing and organizing documentary evidence
- Assisting with preparation for discoveries, mediations, and court proceedings
- Managing files and ensuring deadlines are met
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties as required




- Providing general senior-level paralegal support to counsel

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a paralegal within a law firm
- Experience in at least one of the practice areas listed above
- Strong legal drafting and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and file-management skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Solid attention to detail
- Experience with British Columbia court procedures and litigation practice is an asset

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week

Location: 100% remote

Compensation: $50.00 per hour

This is a freelance position and may be particularly suitable for an experienced paralegal who operates independently or is looking to supplement their existing workload.
