Quality Inclusion Staff (Educational Assistant)
Preschool Child Care Classroom
We are seeking a caring, knowledgeable, and cooperative Quality Inclusion Staff member (Educational Assistant) to support meaningful participation and learning for all children in our preschool child care classroom. Working alongside the classroom team, the successful candidate will help create an inclusive, responsive environment where each child can engage, build relationships, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
· Support children’s participation in daily routines, play, transitions, and learning experiences.
· Collaborate with educators, families, and relevant professionals to implement individualized strategies and goals.
· Apply Universal Design for Learning principles to help make the environment, materials, and experiences accessible to all children.
· Observe and document children’s strengths, interests, progress, and support needs.
· Use positive, responsive approaches to promote communication, self-regulation, social development, and independence.
· Adapt activities and materials while maintaining a play-based, child-centred program.
· Contribute to a safe, welcoming, equitable, and inclusive classroom environment.
· Maintain confidentiality and follow all centre policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience
· At least two years of experience working in a licensed child care or early learning setting.
· Experience supporting children with disabilities, developmental differences, or other special needs.
· Demonstrated understanding of Universal Design for Learning and inclusive practices in early learning environments.
· Ability to build respectful, responsive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
· Strong observation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
· Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification, or willingness to obtain it before employment.
· Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and any other documentation required for work in a licensed child care setting.
Preferred Assets
· Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistance, Child and Youth Care, Developmental Services, or a related field.
· Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication, sensory processing, positive behaviour support, or other evidence-informed inclusion strategies.
· Experience contributing to individualized support plans and working with multidisciplinary teams.

Employment Type: Contract
Hours: 6 hours per day; start time may vary

Compensation: To be determined based on education and experience
