Express is seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our reputable clients maintenance team in south east Calgary. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, including experience with heavy equipment such as loaders, and other heavy machinery this position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a energetic environment, emphasizing safety, precision, and customer service. Duties

- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on heavy-duty equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulic components, engines, transmissions, and mechanical assemblies.
- Replace worn or damaged parts such as belts, hoses, filters, and electrical components; perform heavy lifting as required.
- Interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to facilitate accurate repairs and assembly.
- Maintain detailed records of service work performed and parts used; prepare reports for maintenance logs.




- Operate heavy equipment safely during testing procedures post-repair or maintenance.
- Assist in the assembly of new machinery or equipment as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally.

Experience

- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty machinery.
- Extensive knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands preferred.
- Hands-on experience with loader operation, and crane maintenance.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and fabrication processes.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills coupled with mechanical knowledge.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software.
- Experience working with industrial equipment such as HVAC systems or power tools is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment confidently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
