This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Service Technician to join a team where technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving have a direct impact on customer success. The role offers exposure to a broad range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, along with opportunities to expand technical knowledge, work with evolving equipment technologies, and mentor apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

As the Service Technician, you will independently perform basic to complex diagnostics, preventative maintenance, service, and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. You will play an important role in ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently while providing customers with high-quality service and timely solutions.

Diagnostics & Repair

- Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment to accurately identify repair requirements and minimize customer downtime.
- Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to restore equipment to optimal operating condition.
- Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission diagnosis, repair, and replacement.
- Conduct customer, manufacturer, and government-mandated inspections to ensure equipment meets applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately identify issues and complete repairs correctly the first time to minimize rework and support customer satisfaction.

Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Service

- Perform preventative maintenance activities, including fluid and filter changes, battery testing, brake system adjustments, and lubrication.
- Complete assigned service work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and equipment reliability.
- Maintain current product knowledge related to the equipment, technologies,



and industry standards relevant to the branch.
- Participate in required training programs, including industry-specific and technology-focused training.

Safety & Work Procedures

- Follow all company safety rules and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S;) standards while performing service and repair activities.
- Ensure hazardous waste is handled and disposed of in accordance with proper procedures.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area to promote safety, organization, and efficiency.
- Follow established procedures and management guidelines to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain and properly care for departmental tools, equipment, and service vehicles.

Customer Service & Team Collaboration

- Provide qualified and responsive service to customers, ensuring equipment issues are addressed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
- Communicate repair requirements, findings, and completed work clearly with customers and internal team members.
- Work closely with the Service Manager and Service Department Foreman to complete assigned service activities and priorities.
- Mentor and oversee apprentices, supporting their technical development and professional growth.
- Contribute to branch objectives by maintaining strong productivity, efficiency, and quality of work.

Financial & Performance Management

- Operate within budgets and approvals established by the Service Manager.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency while contributing positively to branch gross margin and overall performance.
- Consistently maintain a high standard of workmanship, with a target quality metric of 98%, helping reduce rework and enhance customer satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.
- Adapt to changing equipment technologies, service requirements, and customer needs while maintaining a robust commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

Education & Experience:

- Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, or Truck/Transport.




- Minimum of 3 years of relevant service technician or equipment repair experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and complex equipment repairs is an asset.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Computer and technical aptitude, with the ability to utilize diagnostic and calibration technology.
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to accurately identify mechanical and technical equipment repair requirements.
- Ability to learn and maintain current knowledge of evolving equipment technologies and industry standards.
- Ability to safely and effectively use service tools, equipment, and technology.
